choices of pumkins

Leave it to America to make sure we have choices even when it comes to pumpkins.

"Would you like the regular orange pumpkin, or the genetically engineered orange pumkin, or the genetically engineered green pumkin, or the genetically engineered white pumkin?"

Well I'm not so sure these pumpkins were actually GE. The may be heirloom pumkins/squash, and they were actually very pretty. It's amazing how many different varieties are out there. But to keep in sync with the satirical theme of this blog, i will rant that how classic america is it to need more choices of pumpkins than just our typical orange? We gotta commercialize EVERYTHING!

Maybe that's what lead to 5 minutes later, Adrien having the worst panic attack of her life? No seriously, she's phychic, and she said there was something off and weird about this place...it must have been these weird colored pumpkins. seriously....weird.

ok EXCELLENT points Cassandra. I have been saying to Adrien lately that I love organic things because they show how much variety is out there, and that the point in everything organic is that things can be not perfect and still be good for you.

thanks for the kick in the butt! I should just stop forcing the satirical comments if there is nothing really satirical to say! ;)

Hey Ryan. Tis Carina. Sup? Glad Adrien is okay. If it turns out she needs a cardiologist - I sincerily hope that isn't the case but if it is - I can ask around. I'm actually looking for a new one myseslf - the one I've had for ages is retiring. But it's a safe bet it wasn't a heart attack (she said something about that on her blog, but I can't post anonymously there) because she wasn't feeling any pain in her left arm. (She wasn't feeling any pain her left arm, was she?)

Anyway! As for the pumpkins, yeah, some of them might be artificially created, but it is possible that Mother Earth just makes that much of a variety! I'm actually going to a pumpkin patch tomorrow. My Dad's has a gig there every Saturday of the month of October for ages now, and there'll be some family and such. But I'm also going to be picking up some Sugar Pumpkins, which are great for cooking with. I made some wicked awesome pumpkin pies and pumkin bread last year from scratch for a Samhain celebration using just those pumpkins and a reciepe from The Joy of Cooking CD-Rom! MM!

♥ Carina
